Camping huts

Designer and master craftsman Branden Davison, with over 25 years of experience in design and development of timber buildings, set himself the task of creating a building that would fit between a log cabin and a tent. The result is the Honeycomb Snug.

Key elements to this project were to maintain a ‘camping feel’ whilst creating a secure and unique living space. Linked to these, the building had to work within the natural landscape and also be kind to the environment.

The Honeycomb Snug achieves all of this and more. Derived from nature, its design principals are inspired from the honey bee and its honeycomb structure, and built using natural materials. These both ensure a seamless fit in the landscape and one that is sustainable.

The internal space of the Honeycomb Snug offers a magical experience. Low walls and a faceted ceiling, both dressed in cedar, create an inviting warmth that is unique in outdoor accommodation. The experience of staying in the Honeycomb Snug will want to be repeated many times.

The Honeycomb Snug represents a unique concept in recreational accommodation. It fills the gap between a log cabin and a tent and creates an opportunity to explore and experience camping-out in comfort.

For the operator, the Honeycomb Snug brings a significant business opportunity and the chance to create a destinational experience. It will add value to an existing business or could be the product to create a new and exciting development in leisure accommodation.
